Preparation and Integration
through internal alignment

Help you safely meet what is opening within and move toward greater inner balance.

What is preparation and integration therapy?

Preparation therapy

Preparation therapy supports you before an expanded state. It includes an in depth exploration of your personal history, current life situation, and anything that may need attention. The intention is to bring clarity and orientation so you can meet the experience with more steadiness, trust, and awareness, including moments that may feel intense or unfamiliar. It also helps you understand what the experience may be like, especially if it is your first time, so there is more sense of orientation and what to expect, and how to navigate altered states with more ease. It helps identify patterns or challenges that could be amplified during the journey and offers practical ways to meet them.

Preparation supports you in:

  • Understanding possible emotional, physical, and perceptual shifts that can arise
  • Working with fear, resistance, or strong activation as it comes up
  • Learning practical tools to stay grounded and regulate your system
  • Clarifying intention, readiness, and personal focus for the experience
  • Gently exploring personal history and current life context to understand any individual needs, sensitivities, or areas that may benefit from additional support before working together

Integration

Integration is the process of making sense of what has been experienced and bringing it into lived understanding.

Experiences with plant medicine or psychedelics can be profound and transformative, but the real work often continues afterward as insights are understood and lived. Without integration, these experiences can feel confusing or incomplete.

Integration helps you reflect on insights, visions, and emotions. These experiences may stir strong emotions or unresolved trauma, and integration offers space to work through this more fully. It can also support navigating personal, relational, and cultural dimensions, and help prevent bypassing or avoidance of deeper material.

It also helps translate insight into lived change, allowing shifts to be embodied in relationships, work, and daily life, while navigating changes in identity and perception with greater clarity and stability.

Integration supports you in:

  • Making sense of emotional, symbolic, and expanded experiences
  • Working through strong emotional material or resurfaced trauma
  • Exploring shifts in perception, identity, or meaning
  • Bringing insights into relationships, work, and daily life

A sacred and conscious approach

This work is held in a sacred and mindful way, honoring personal growth and respecting your autonomy and inner wisdom on this path.

The focus is not on escapism, addiction, or the encouragement of recreational substance use. It is about conscious engagement and thoughtful integration of experiences that have already occurred. Both the psychological and spiritual dimensions are honored, without imposing belief systems or interpretations.

Sessions are held with respect, curiosity, and care for what is present.

They cover:

  • Harm reduction and safety assessment, including screening for psychological vulnerability and destabilization
  • Stabilization and grounding before working with intense or transpersonal material
  • Differential understanding of spiritual emergence versus mental health crisis
  • Contextualizing the experience within personal history, culture, and belief systems
  • Processing challenging experiences without pathologizing or romanticizing them
  • Strengthening support systems, boundaries, and daily functioning
  • Ethical reflection, informed consent, and responsible decision making around future use

Plant medicines and psychedelics: integration differences

Plant Medicines

Traditionally used in ceremonial and indigenous contexts, often experienced as symbolic and spiritually embodied. Integration focuses on grounding, meaning-making, and stabilizing spiritual or ancestral insights into daily life.

Psychedelics

Used in therapeutic and personal development settings, often producing emotional insight and cognitive clarity. Integration focuses on emotional processing, regulation, and turning insight into practical change.

Integration is the bridge between expanded states and everyday life.

Why preparation and integration matter?

Preparation matters because you are informed, resourced, and ready. Having a clear sense of what to expect can reduce fear and confusion, allowing for a deeper and more grounded experience. When the nervous system feels safer, it is easier to stay present and work with what arises rather than becoming overwhelmed.

Experiences with plant medicine or psychedelics can be profound and transformative, but the real work often continues afterward as those insights are understood and lived. Without integration, these experiences can feel confusing or incomplete.

Integration helps you reflect on insights, visions, and emotions, bringing clarity to complex realizations. It supports grounding in personal, spiritual, and cultural dimensions, and can help prevent bypassing or avoidance of deeper material. These experiences can stir strong emotions or past trauma, and integration offers support to process this safely and fully.

It also helps translate insight into action, allowing changes to be embodied in relationships, work, and daily life, while navigating shifts in identity and perception with greater clarity and stability.

Plant Medicine and Psychedelic Integration vs Intervention

Integration

Focuses on helping you make sense of your experience without imposing interpretation. The aim is to support your own understanding and allow insights to unfold naturally, with reflection and space rather than direction.

Intervention

Is used when more active support is needed for safety or stability. It may involve offering guidance, tools, or recommendations to help navigate emotional distress, trauma responses, or immediate concerns.

What may be included

Depending on your needs, different approaches can be woven into the integration process to support release, expression, and closure. This may include breathwork, ritual or grief work, creative processes, voice or singing work, inner exploration, or supportive non psychedelic plant based practices such as cleansing baths or vapour rituals.

Integration work

Curandera and Vegetalista Practice

As a curandera and vegetalista with over 20 years of dedicated practice, my work has been shaped through direct relationship with plant medicine and traditional healing ways. I have spent extended time in Peru in apprenticeship within plant traditions, learning through ceremony, study, and service alongside teachers and lineages rooted in the jungle.

Curendera and vegetalista practice
Plant healing traditions

A vegetalista works in direct relationship with medicinal plants within a traditional healing system, supporting physical, emotional, and energetic balance through plant based practices, cleansing, and regulation of the system.

A curandera holds a broader healing role, working with guidance, energetic diagnosis, and support for emotional, spiritual, and energetic imbalance. This role is formed through long term apprenticeship and dietas with master plants, which develop the capacity to safely hold and support deep healing processes.

What is complementary Vegetalista plant cleansing?

Vegetalista Plant Cleansing Work is an in-person practice using traditional medicinal plants to support physical, emotional, and energetic balance. It is not psychoactive work and does not induce trance states.

Plants are used to release stagnation or heaviness in the body and support purification and reset. For example, a vomitivo may support release through vomiting, while plant baths or vapours may be used when deeper clearing is needed. These processes follow the body’s natural rhythms and support release on a physical, emotional, and energetic level.

This work can be intense, as it may bring up material held in the system. Sessions include guidance, ritual, singing, and support to help you move through and integrate what arises. The process is always held with preparation, clear communication, and care.

Plant cleansing requires readiness, stability, and consent. When approached responsibly, it can support clarity, reset, and lasting change while respecting your safety and autonomy.

Ikaro Singing Therapy

I offer daytime Ikaro singing sessions as a form of vibrational healing through voice. Each one hour session begins with intention setting, followed by approximately 40 minutes of live sung medicine, where voice and frequency move through the system, supporting release, alignment, and remembrance of inner balance.

At times plant baths or herbal vapours may be included, but the core of the work is carried through sound. You are invited to rest and receive, allowing the songs to guide the process inward.
